Volunteering with Real Estate Students
Micah’s experience volunteering with CU Real Estate students
The University of Colorado – Boulder has in-depth education for students interested in a career in the real estate industry. The program offers extensive course work and provides a multitude of opportunities for students to interact with industry leaders in the classroom.
Once a semester Micah, a broker associate with The Colorado Group, Inc is invited by the University of Colorado’s Real Estate Department to speak to the students.
“I happily accept every request because I find it extremely rewarding to enlighten current undergrad students on the day-to-day life of a commercial real estate agent. It’s been very satisfying to help expand their knowledge and give them the information they need to determine what they would like to do within the real estate industry.”
Each discussion is very different and ranges from round table discussions, speaking on a panel, to one-on-ones with individual students. Regardless of the form of communication, one element is always consistent, the students’ appreciation. It’s easy to see that the students are grateful for the time Micah and the other speakers’ spend volunteering.
“I’ll continue to speak to the CU Real Estate students for as long as the University extends the invitation. Volunteering at CU has been an enriching, and fulfilling experience that I hope continues for a long time.”
